Endrizzi Masetto Nero Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT An old house cuvée composed of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, and Teroldego. Ruby-like colour with a vibrant appearance. Complex and fruity bouquet, which elegantly binds the fine wood aromas. Delicate, well balanced, with a rich, persistent mouth-feel. Dense structure. Excellent with fish and cheese. Varietal profile Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Lagrein, and Teroldego. Created after an old house cuvée of the winery’s founder, Francesco Endrici. Vineyard Masetto, the little manor (from the Latin „mansum“), is home to the Cantina Endrizzi since 1885. Masetto and Kinderleit. Vine training partially in the simple Trentino pergola style, partially in Guyotstyle. Altitude 220-250m above sea level. Chalky dolomite soils mixed with debris from the Rio Faedo. Yield per hectare 65 hectoliters. Picking After heavy cluster thinning in the summer only choice grapes from the oldest vines are used. Production Alcoholic fermentation with frequent racking, followed by 10 days of prolonged maceration and malolactic fermentation. Refinement partially in barriques of 225 l, partially in large wooden barrels for about 18 months. Finally bottle ageing for another 6 months. Description Ruby-red color. Elegantly spicy and complex bouquet reminiscent of blueberries, raspberries, cocoa, and vanilla. Full and especially harmonious, notwithstanding the marked tannic presence. Persistent mouthfeel. Food recommendations An especially well-rounded and velvety wine, excellent with all meats and cheese. |
